FOR WHO? Open to all those that identify as being on the female side of the vast spectrum that is gender.

DESCRIPTION: Women’s only jams seeks to empower women physically and emotionally. It is a place for those that identify as women to take their concerns and have them held. All the sessions are run in a way that the group puts its needs forwards and then the group leaders design the programming according to what the needs in the group are. This way the “what” of what the women’s circle/jams will be determined through group process organically.
FACILITATION: Olya Glotka, Kim Simons and Kathleen Rea
Olya Glotka has been dancing Contact Improvisation for over 6 years. She has been co-facilitating 2 contact jams for over a year. Her other roles and titles: Directed 2 community dance shows (Create-Move-Connect), involving 50+ volunteers spanning over one year. Worked as an assistant director for Contact Dance International Film Festival. 2 years teaching yoga and aerial fitness in group setting.
Kathleen Rea and has taught at School of Toronto dance Theatre, York University and Niagara College and is a faculty member of George Brown Dance. She has choreographed over 40 dance works and been nominated for five DORAs. Kathleen won the K. M. Hunter Choreographic Award and is a published author (“The Healing Dance”, Charles C. Thomas). She is a Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO) and a candidate teacher of the Axis Syllabus. She is the director of RDDP who produces the Wednesday Dance Jam, the Contact Dance International Film Festival and the Moved by Natural Forces Retreat.
Kim Simons has been teaching strength, fitness and healthy movement to people of all ages and abilities, full time for more than a decade. She coaches one-on-one and leads support groups with focus on health and wellness, She has been facilitating contact workshops and jams for over a year drawing on her extensive experience in fitness and injury prevention/rehabiliation. Along with Olya, Kim facilitates 2 ongoing contact jams as well as Women’s only jam and circle.
